Our students thoroughly enjoy the use of both our indoor and outdoor campus facilities. Our field, playground and Founders’ Arts and Activities Building (FAAB) provide fantastic opportunities for the students to enjoy a well-rounded and developmentally appropriate program which is offered to students from kindergarten through 6th grade.
Physical fitness and good health habits lead to an improved learning capacity. Our program promotes the concept that physical activity directly benefits students’ physical and mental health, as well as their emotional and social development.
The curriculum includes a foundation of basic movement and manipulative skills so that the students will experience success and feel comfortable during present and future physical activity pursuits.
In keeping with the Montessori philosophy, P.E. class meets each child right where he/she is with regard to ability and/or any limitations. The activities included in the program are designed to promote physical fitness, to develop motor skills, to instill knowledge and understanding of rules, concepts, and strategies, and to teach students to work as part of a team, or as individuals, in a wide variety of sports activities.
My elder son was really happy when he was with Providence. The student/teacher ratio is small, so every kid gets enough attention. And whenever we raised any concerns, they were answered promptly and professionally.
We plan to send my younger kid there too, when he reaches two years old.
Not only the best Montessori school in Lexington but the best school in Lexington PERIOD. 🙂
